Turmeric, the bright yellow spice found in curry, is considered a superfood. It helps to support brain health, healthy joints, and the maintenance of a healthy immune system. Turmeric is also known for its ability to support healthy inflammatory processes and for its antioxidant effects.

One of the active ingredients in turmeric is called curcumin. This compound has an impressive array of antioxidant and immune supportive benefits.

Curcumin is poorly absorbed into the body because it’s broken down very quickly at the intestinal wall and in the liver.

Pro Tip 👉 Adding black pepper to dishes made with turmeric greatly increases the amount of curcumin available for absorption. (That's why you'll find a pinch of black pepper in this smoothie recipe!) Don't worry, it's such a small amount that you won't even taste it.

Banana
rich in potassium and low in sodium and also beneficial to all forms of minor digestive aliments.

Mango is rich in antioxidants.
